NOTE:  I took Toby out early for his .7 mile walk.  It was a very emotional .7 miles.  First, I get to the point where I feel I can trust Toby and I let down my guard a bit.  He’s quick to let me know I shouldn’t do that.  Not really paying attention, I look up to see Toby halfway across McCormick street heading for another animal on the other side.  One quick, stern call and he came back well enough.  Thankfully McCormick street isn’t that well traveled. 
Second, Toby encountered a black, scruffy kitten.  My heart just melted.  It sincerely looked like no one has given it any kind of love  in its little life.  I’m reminded of my karmic debt from accidentally running over a kitty out by my brother’s house; which, out of shame I have purposely neglected to mention.  So I took Toby home and came back to the kitten with a couple clumps of Pyewacket’s cat food.  I continue on with my 2-mile walk, wondering (kind of hoping) if this scruffy kitten would have moved on.  Such was not the case.  It was still where I left it. I simply had to take it home with me.  What else was I supposed to do?  What else could I have done?

My Veterinarian was kind enough to see the kitten immediately.  I now know it’s a female.  She has a mouth injury, probably from being hit by a car and will need stitches.  With this injury comes an infection coupled with fever.  My Veterinarian is encouraged because she does eat soft food.  This does seem very repairable.  I paid for the antibiotics and he said he will put the stitches in for free.

GODDAMN!  I almost forgot about my VA appointment.  I was a bit late but they still worked me in.

Toby for his VERY enthusiastic .7 mile walk.  He was so funny.  At the first intersection close to the house he waited like he knows to do.  However, when he heard ”ready…go” he energetically started crossing caddywompas instead of directly across to the other side.  I called him back to attention and he LITERALLY did a full circle, going back thru the intersections,  to come back to me on the side of the intersection where he started.  I laughed so fucking hard it was ridiculous!  The entire walk was a hoot!  Toby runs ahead, sniffs, I catch up, pass Toby, Toby comes running, etc.  Towards the end of the walk
Toby’s tongue was just-a-dragging!  He/We had so much fun this morning.

My J’sW buddy paid a surprise visit.  Around the Wîhstat he started spouting his J’sW stuff at me; taking the liberty of telling me about what his Jehovah said about not having any other gods before him...not sure why he thought he could do this...and I vehemently responded with, “I don’t care what your Jehovah has to say”.  At first he looked dumbfounded but he soon got over it…and himself.  He and I go way back; and I
must admit even I was kind of surprised at his reaction.  I remember one of the first conversations he and I had while we both worked at Hawker.  He asked me, “Do you believe the bible is the word of God?”  I simply responded with a resounding “No!”  He goes, “Well, that ended that conversation.”  Honestly, he and I have the greatest respect for each other because we both are so well-grounded in what we believe.
