A.M. Prayer: Thursday, we pray to Donar/Thor, and lighting a red candle:
Donar/Thor, thunder forth in our lives. When we would hold back, let us advance. When we would be weak, help us be strong. When we would shun life’s pleasures, sharpen our appetites for that which is lusty and good. Help us grow from strength, and teach us, elder brother, how to throw our own Hammer, and slay the giants who appose our will. HAIL DONAR/THOR!!

A personal observation: More times than not Algiz comes up reversed and I think I understand why. It’s because I don’t understand. Oh, I understand the Heimdall connection and I understand the lore behind the Rune. What I DON’T understand, and have NEVER understood, is why the emphasis is on the “Z” portion, or hind portion of this particular Rune while the other Runes in the Futhark emphasize the beginning: Ansuz = “A”, Berkana = “B”, Ehwaz = “E”, usw. Why is it on the Algiz Rune, and it’s only on Algiz, we look at the “Z” for the pronunciation? I can expect that when someone can adequately explain that one to me then Algiz will figure more positively.
P.M. Prayer: Eger und Rahana/Aegir and Ran:
Eger und Rahana/Aegir and Ran, keeper of the deep hall at ocean’s bottom, host to the drowned and the sea lost. Your dwelling might be thought sad and gloomy, but you are known to be kind and hospitable ale givers. In your goodness then, cheer us when waves of misfortune pound our life’s fragile boats to the bottom. For even at the bottom, there is warmth, cheer and hope. Be our assurance and our inspiration to strive on despite the swells and swirls of fate. HAIL AEGIR AND RAN/EGER UND RHANA!!
P.M. Rune: none
