(Heumond = Hay Month)(ERE = Eternal Roman Empire; rather than BC, AD, BCE or
CE)

Plans:  farmer’s Market, ENJOY A WEEKEND OFF!

Picture
AM Prayer:  Saturday, Day of Fertility/Tag der Fruchtbarkeit,
normally attributed to the (rather obscure) fertility goddess, Saeter (more correctly Saturn), we pray to Sibba/Sif and to Ing Fro/Freyr, lighting green candles (for fertility):
Sibba/Sif let us see you in all the growing things that sustain our lives. Help us look beyond the packaging and promotion, to the richness of the Earth from which all bounty comes. When ordinary eyes see only corn, let us see your golden hair hid in its silk. When others see only bread, let us see the grain, beyond that, your smile and laughter. Feed our might and main, Holy Sibba/Sif, that we may do our work in the world. HAIL SIBBA/SIF!!

 Ing Fro/Freyr
, you are the god of “Ar”, the good harvest and prosperity: you are indeed the lusty enlarger of life. When the day to day wears us down, remind us of
pleasures and joys. Help us recall the wonderful excesses that brought our lives into being and which sustain the human spirit during good times and bad. Without you, there would be no life and certainly little delight. Thank you, Ing Fro/Freyr, for the rushing life spirit and the eternal play of passions that make our lives fruitful. ING FRO/FREYR, HAIL!!

AM Rune:  Two Runes…again

Picture
Algiz (U): Protection, Heimo/Heimdall (the genetic connection between gods and the Folk), guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, protection, expansion of consciousness, divine realizations, an awakening, drawing on the natural Will, invocation/supplication to the gods, AKA Elhaz, the Elk, or swan.

And

Picture
Mannaz (U): The human, Heimdall; our genetic connection, cooperation between people, the human intellect, awareness, kinship, the ability to work well within a social structure and be effective within it, social interaction and order, perfected intellect, attract support from your peers,  Divine structure.

Outcome:  Two Heimdall Runes…WOW…this has NEVER happened!

Well, the Farmer’s Market was quickly squelched.  I slept in a bit and it’s already starting to heat up.  Instead, we plan on a dinner at Quincy’s!

Emirates Cup (this is new…) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emirates_Cup (…well, at least it’s new to me)
NY Red Bulls 1:0 Paris Saint-Germain
 (then this is a WOW!)

I watched a bit of the preliminary draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on ESPN3.com.  I had forgotten how massive an undertaking this really is: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminarydraw/draw.html

Quincy’s http://quincyswichita.com/ for a late lunch.  I had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans w/bacon and onions: YUMMERZ!  Audie had Jalapeño poppers and a beer.

 Herbalife World Football Challenge http://www.mlssoccer.com/wfc
On ESPN2 and ESPN3.com

the Washington Redskins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FedEx_Field ; 82,000 sold out in hours…not days, but hours!
FC Barcelona v Manchester United http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2011-07-30-barcelona-vs-manchester-united/preview

Meeka for a late-night walk

With two Runes relating to Heimdall I just gotta give hail to this day!  I REALLY like Heimdall’s story.  It’s probably my favorite!  No matter how you see it; as a story over time (which I do), or the setting class structure, the story's the same.  What it says is the genetic connection is there for all the Folk.  We don’t need a blood sacrifice.  We don’t need a savior.  We just need to know Heimdall has made a way for us to connect naturally to our gods as our ancestors.

PM Prayer:  Ostara/Idun:
Ostara/Idun, keeper of the golden apples of youth, keep us young inside. When we are starving for laughter, hungry for the lightness that comes with having few years on our shoulders, slip us one of those gleaming fruits that we may see the world through youthful eyes. Let springtime be in our steps, love in our hearts and a song on our lips. Change us to the core! Fill us with optimism and dreams for the future. HAIL
OSTARA/IDUN!!!

 PM Rune:  none

Comments:  cared for animals, Meeka inside
