Plans: clinicals early AM…
AM Prayer: Wednesday, we pray to the Divine couple: Wodan/Odin and Frija/Frigga, lighting royal blue (for Wodan/Odin) and light blue (for Frija/Frigga) candles.
Rune god! Wolf God! Raven god! WODAN/ODIN!! We call out to you, not as a slave or on bended knee, but on our feet and opened-armed as befits your offspring. Watch us as we struggle, but the fight and fame must both be ours! Grant us that victory which we win by OUR might and mane! If we live well, Wodan/Odin, grant us access to one of the Great Halls where we may feast, drink and be merry with those who have gone before us until the time comes to live or fight once more. WODAN/ODIN, HAIL!!!
Frija/Frigga, teach us to be patient but not passive; wise but not haughty in our wisdom; far seeing yet not blind to that which is before us. May we nurture life, increase life, and live our own lives more fully. Through you we give honor to our human mothers. Through you we see all the beauty that surrounds us as well. FRIJA/FRIGGA, HAIL!!

Advice on how to spend the day
Outcome: My Uncle’s (rather brief) obituary was in the paper this morning.
First thing at clincals this morning I thought for sure Ehwaz was going to play out immediately. Luckily such was not the case. With this being my first 7:30 time into being anywhere but home, perhaps I was perceived as less than pleasant. Nonetheless, I made sure to be as accommodating as possible. I stayed in floro the whole time and learned quite a bit from an actual student instructor.
I made sure to check with my Clinical Supervisor about going to my Uncle’s funeral tomorrow. All is well!
Damn, the heat is really on!
I went to the visitation with family as part of the funeral process for my Uncle. On the way back from Hesston I took a less than familiar rout, but at the same time it was a way we took as a young family as an alternative rout taken to-and-from places like Newton and/or Hesston. It’s a nice, slow country drive that allowed some serious thoughts. I was quite melancholy remembering how extended family was when we were young but how we have grown apart as adults; especially between Wichita and those up north. I have never felt accepted by the cousins. The only ones accepted were the two older brothers. The rest of us were always kept at arms-length. With the passing of the elder brother and the other brother waking away from the family, the mantle of acceptance was never passed. All this remained evident this evening. I also thought about how the Newton/Hesston/Peabody bunch never come into Wichita except for some kind of business, but never contact us for a visit. We in Wichita have always had to make the trip to them if we wanted to visit. It has often seemed there is a barrier between Newton and Wichita that was never to be violated. Since mother’s death in ‘94 not one of them, NOT A SINGLE ONE, has ever visited her grave on Memorial Day. The old ones are dieing off and nothing is being developed between the cousins and Wichita. I’m sure the barrier that exists will become an iron curtain. Herein lies my Ehwaz (R).
Applebee’s for dinner (Audie’s treat) but they totally screwed up my simple order; and a quick trip to Wal-Mart

PM Prayer: All you gods and goddesses bless and keep your Holy Folk. From the cold shadows of the glaciers to the colder shadows of space, always, we have been your people. Guide and guard your North folk as you did in ages past. Wodan/Odin, give wisdom and craft to wits shaped by ice and fire that our foes be foxed. Donar/Thor, give us strength and the will to use it. Ing Fro/Freyr and Uualburga Frouwa/Freyja, give full wombs so that bodies will be found for the souls of heroes. Let your Northern Folk grow in number and in power, so that our kind may live, love, survive and thrive, not just today, not for a millennium, but for ever and ever!
