NOTE: I put Essie on her tether pre-dawn and got lost into the Internet. I went back out to check on her only to find her tether had become snagged and she had wiggled out of it. I wasn’t as freaked out as before but I was still concerned. Thinking she wouldn’t have gone far I went around the property calling her name, only to have her come out from between the straw bales on the porch. GOOD ESSIE!

Okay, today is the bank and government holiday of Columbus Day. Two things are going on here. 1. We KNOW he wasn’t the first European here. Leif Ericson was. 2. Columbus was oneheluva cruel dude not worthy of veneration, and I refuse to give it to him. I’ve heard some people instead use today to honor Native Americans; rather, I call them First Nations People. SO I give HAIL to those who lived here BEFORE the Europeans brought their poison.

Oasis Staffing called with a job offer! I had to weigh the difference between Convergys http://www.convergys.com/ and this one. I chose this one at Sunshine Metals http://www.sunshinemetals.com/. Convergys is doing something I’m not familiar with, it’s less per hour but more permanent. Sunshine Metals is more per hour, right up my alley and temp to hire. 6.7 mi west Sunshine v 7.9 mi east Convergys. Yes, I’m banking on my ability to immediately shine at Sunshine Metals. I start Wednesday. The guy at Oasis Staffing is going to tell them about my appointment on Thursday, but he’s not going to tell them it’s an interview with Spirit Aerosystems.
…AND another company, Koch Engineering, asking for an interview…WOW!

Socks was so cute getting my attention to come outside so I made it a family front yard time. Essie once again stood off two of the neighbors cats. Sugar, for some reason, was trying to be cute in front of her. Squish tried to come into the yard but Essie was right there. Once Socks realized what Essie was doing he was there, too.
