Plans: back to work
Greetings to you Mano/Manni, silver messenger on high, as you fly silently on your way reflect into our souls the glory of the High Ones that we might aspire to the realms of the gods. Bathe our world in soft brightness, and whisper to our souls of joyous realms beyond our knowing. Mano/Manni let us see the goodness within us and without us, all the nights and days of our lives. MANO/MANNI, HAIL!!

Advice on how to spend the day
Algiz (U): Protection, Heimo/Heimdall (the genetic connection between gods and the Folk), guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, protection, expansion of consciousness, divine realizations, an awakening, drawing on the natural Will, invocation/supplication to the gods, AKA Elhaz, the Elk, or swan.
Or
Algiz (R): Outside the favor of Heimo/Heimdall, failure to integrate humanity with the Divine without divine protection, possible dangers lurking, lack of preparedness, without the need for protection, the inability to see/understand/connect with what‘s coming, an aspect of death, void of the power of the Elk.
Outcome: First thing this morning Audie said something about Meeka going into a seizure around 04:30. Audie said she comforted Meeka until she came out of it. I checked Meeka out, she seemed to be fine and I went on to work. At 10:30 I’m notified of an emergency at home and I needed to call. Meeka had been in a seizure for TWO HOURS. I checked out with my supervisor (with infractions looming); hurried home to find Meeka in a bad way with Audie by her side. I scooped Meeka (all 55 pounds +) up in my arms and we headed to the Vet. She was seen immediately. Meeka was given an injection to calm her down and some gas at her muzzle to further put her out. Immediately the Vet suspected epilepsy. Epilepsy? WTF? He said he was going to run some tests and would know later this afternoon. IN TEARS I told the Vet, “You saved her once, I hope you can do it again“. He responded with a hopeful promise. Back at work I checked in with my supervisor to let him know what was going on. I was barely gone an hour and a half so he said it would probably be only one infraction instead of two. Then he said something that was rather surprising. “You’re a good man” he said. I responded with, “Thank you, sir, I try”. I think he was just surprised that I came back to work at all; I think most people probably wouldn’t have come back. I knew Meeka was in good hands and Audie was back at home. Going back to work only made sense.
After work I stopped back in to check on Meeka. She was still a bit groggy but she recognized me. She so wanted to come home with me. It was hard to leaver her there overnight. The Vet said he would come back later that evening to check on her, too. Meeka will be on Phenobarbital http://www.bing.com/health/article/goldstandard-1500081957/Phenobarbital-Oral-tablet?q=phenobarbital&qpvt=phenobarbital for the rest of her life. She’ll will be fine. Because of a brief conversation I had with my lead-man (Meeka’s former owner) I’m so glad I have Meeka instead of him. I doubt that he would have put up with this; in other words, I suspect he probably would have had to her to sleep. For me, however, Meeka is family. I’ll do anything within my power to make/keep her well.
Algiz (neutral)…WHEW…!!!
WOW! What-a-heluva day!
PM Prayer: Nirdu/Njord:
Nirdu/Njord, god of harbors and seas close to land, Father of the Vanir; Freyr and Freyja, help us to remember the cargoes of wealth that float to our doors daily from the wonderful universe in which we live. Though our misfortunes may rise and fall like the tides, the chance of prosperity, like the eternal sea brimming with fish, is still there. Like the salt-sea spray, awaken us to the possibilities that surround us, so that our nets may be cast wide and return full of life’s gifts. HAIL NIRDU/NJORD!!
