Machining class has been very stressful due to restarting projects.  Once I restart a second time I don’t restart a third no matter what.  CATIA design was equally stressful.  I had to restart Problem 2 a few times before I made good progress.  I’m stronger for both of these instances.  

Came home and washed the car immediately.  I’ve been meaning to do it for several days.

Machining class was challenging.  I scrapped my first ever but then made
significant headway on the 2nd.  CATIA assembly was equally challenging.  I did marginally well on the quiz, but on the redo; however not for a grade, I completed it easily.

I remade one of the boxes set for recycling for Socks to take cover at night.   There’s dead space on the bottom so he’s not against the concrete and there’s a bit of a wall on top to block the wind.  I put his favorite blanket in it to entice him .

My brother called.  He simply said he’s coming over; didn’t sound good….oh, he brought over some frozen items I had stored in his freezer shortly after A_ moved out.  Toby really enjoys his company.

I made a short road trip to Hesston.  Ever since my cousin told me my Grandma Reimer’s house was empty but for someone using it for storage I could get it out of my mind.  I was able to look into the windows.  It’s amazing how small that house had become as I grew up.  It’s not the roomy two-story I remember, but that didn’t disappoint at all.  IF, and that’s a HUGE if, I get hired by AGCO

What a great meeting it was with Uncle Bjorn.  We have so many of the same connections it’s uncanny.  He’s like an iconic figure within Hammerstorm.  It was a sincere pleasure to get to know him better.  It was a great gift (Gebo) from a great man!

I spend a lot of time in the computer room.  Essie has learned to perch herself on a nearby bench and Toby has his place on the floor.  I love it how they make the adjustment

Compared to yesterday’s fiasco, Toby’s 1-mile walk this morning was WONDERFUL.  At the beginning, I took him nose-to-nose to make sure I had his attention.  Evidently I did.  There was a second time it looked like he was ready to misbehave so I once again took him nose-to-nose.  He did very well.

Machining class went well, but challenging.  CATIA Assembly class went well enough.  I THINK I get it, but we’ll see when I put together the wheel assembly and deal with problem #1.

I emailed my attorney to aid with A_ getting  her shit out of the shed and my attorney responded quickly.  A_ now has until Oct 31st to get everything out.  After that, all is locked up.

I’ve been thinking; you would be amazed how gentle Toby is with Essie.  Earlier this evening I watched Essie attack Toby’s foot as Toby was reclining.  It didn’t bother him.  He put up with it until Essie really started digging in, but he didn’t respond angrily, just in a recoil to get her to stop.  I love it, too, when I watch Toby share his food with Essie.  Essie becomes very vocal when she knows it’s Toby’s feeding time.  More times than not, Toby purposely decides to let Essie eat first.  Essie had no concept of what another animal would do if Essie were to try to eat its food, or try to play.  Essie has no concept of animal fury; which is why I am so anxious about letting her outside.  It’s nothing I want to do anytime soon; that is, unless it’s closely supervised.  Pye is gone.  Fish is pretty much across the street.  Socks only comes in for a moment.  Essie’s only contact with another animal is Toby, and Toby treats her like gold.

Toby did fairly well on his 1mile, somewhat humid walk.  As long as he responds to very sternly worded voice commands he regains my trust.

Machining went fine.  The instructor pushed me a bit to better understand feed and speed.  I used the simple equation to figure them out.  Amazing…it works.  CATIA lecture went as well as could be expected.

Toby did really well on his extended walk.  I took him to Meeka Park for the first time.  By the time we got there he was pretty much spent.  The next time we go there I’m going to make that the destination.  Perhaps he’ll be more receptive to its freedom.

I have had a GREAT morning talking to people; either on the internet or on the phone.  I’m hooking up with an old friend later on this week.  I called someone else to discuss this.  I also heard from one of my best friends and we talked about so many things.  Hopefully there will be some good possibilities grow out from this.

At Lowe’s http://www.lowes.com/ they had a GREAT DEAL on shrubs @ $1.50 ea.  I wasn’t going to get eight, but at that price I had to.  Now, I’m planning on replacing all that is around the Wîhstat and take the ones that are still half-way decent to replant them up front.

Around the Wîhstat I’m planting Green Velvet Boxwood Hedge http://www.brighterblooms.com/product/green-velvet-boxwood.html so, being in Zone 6 and according to this information, I’m hoping this will do well in Kansas summers.   This is my third and final effort to plant some kind of tree/bush around the Wîhstat.  If
this doesn’t work I give up.
