Toby had his indoctrination into the neighborhood on a leash.  Of course, there were times he wanted to charge ahead, mostly because of another animal.  Other than that he did just fine.  Once back at the house I took him off the leash for a short walk north to the highway.  He did swimmingly well!

It seems that overnight there were a couple of cat issues involving Toby.  I’m glad that Toby is making himself at home, but now it becomes necessary to protect the smaller animals from the larger.  I will become alpha.  Toby has already began responding to certain voice commands coupled with hand signals.  He has to now be kept out of the kitchen where the cat’s food is and he has to learn his feeding area is his feeding area as the two areas will never co-mingle.  I give him freedom in the front yard as long as I’m watching him and call him in when he’s going a bit too far; which, he responds to very well.  I am quite convinced he is very trainable.  I just cannot have things out of control.  The Self must discipline. 

If you’re on Facebook then you know all these damned games and apps floating around.  I really think it’s the game or app posing as a person on my friends list sending out these stupid requests.  I’ve decided to report every M-R F-N on of them as SPAM when they show up on my Facebook page.  I don’t know if Facebook will do anything about it, but I’m gonna try this to see what happens.

Tested Toby on a short, un-leashed walk.  There IS hope for this pooch!

I steamed some fresh cauliflower for dinner with my meatloaf and mashed potatoes: YUM-fucking-MERZ!

Late evening 1.7mile walk alone, .4 with Toby.  It was amazing how much pull this 40lb dog had, but soon enough he realized how pulling was only challenging his breathing ability; not to mention how I let him know my displeasure.  By the end of .4 miles he was doing much better. After the walk, I gave him his pig-ear treat.

Light-weight, high-rep workout

I went to my veterinarian’s to look at the dog.  They were awfully busy.  Unbeknownst to me (thank you so much Garrett) I was making conversation with the dog I was there to see.  I thought this elderly couple was there to see Richard, too, but they had brought the dog in so I could meet it.  I had no idea this was the dog.  The dog immediately buttered up to me so it was meant to happen.  This couple followed me over to the house so “Toby” could see the back yard.  He made himself right at home.  I took Toby inside to meet Pye, well, you know how that went; BUT, Toby’s tail stayed in the air and wagging so he had no malicious intent.  I messaged Audie where she’s been house sitting.  At first she was disappointed because Toby is a boy, but she agreed to see him.  The Elderly couple followed me over there, too.  Audie was immediately impressed.  So, it looks like we’ll be getting a new family member.  This elderly couple wants to take Toby back to the veterinarian for his shots and will deliver him after 2PM. 
 
I just got my initial reading from True Will Astrology; FREAKING WOW!  I think the most amazing thing in all this is that he confirmed that thru a lifetime of catastrophic events, I have been brought exactly to the place I need to be with my relationship with the Divine.


I HAVE TAKEN POSSESSION OF TOBY!  While at the veterinarian’s the couple giving me Toby paid for his shots and licensing: $50...WOW!

Looks like I start the battle for summer early; whether or not I lose it; whether or not there is opposition, the battle WILL be waged!

Monday, the day after Ren Fair, my right foot was hurting.  The day after, my right shoulder was giving me fits.  Today, my right foot is better and my right shoulder still is hurting somewhat; not enough to keep me away from my 2-mile walk this morning.

My tattoo artist did a great job touching up the Gullinbursti tattoo AND he completed it in a timely manor.  I didn’t have to worry about whether or not I was on time for the funeral.  He was done by 2PM/14:00.  Pics will most definitely follow.

The funeral was a typical christian funeral.  They took the life of a wonderful woman and eventually turned it into a salvation message.  It wasn’t TOTALLY in your face but it was there.  My purpose for going was for support of Kindred members.  I think my effort was appreciated.

93F outside today, broke a 1901 record, 85F in the house…WTF?  It’s FREAKING warm in here.  It’ll be better tomorrow.  I refuse to turn on the A/C for one day.

I called my veterinarian about the Dalmatian mix pup falling thru and me just not being in a hurry because “Meeka was just that good”.  He agreed, but then he tells me a bout a nice, healthy Lab-mix that could use a home.  Just like the Dalmatian-mix, it was obtained from the Humane Society then passed around.  I first asked him if he could vouch for the dog’s health, which he could; then told him I would consider it.  I’m thinking that’s what I do anyway; take in wayward creatures.

The heat is on today: 85F/29C

Last week a couple/Kindred Member’s grandmother died.  Today was the family time at the funeral home.  I never assume it’s okay to attend one of these so I got their permission to be there.  I know how things have to be in the mundane world.  I figured somewhere during this time I would be introduced as their “minister” and I have no problem with that.  I went prepared for that and was dressed the part.  I know I have to be introduced to non-Heathens as “minister”, to other Heathens as “Godi”, but amongst ourselves, I know I am Harugari.  It’s okay to wear all those hats as need be.  It seemed I was well received.

Both Laguz and Ar played out extremely well today.

Well hell, my brother, who also works out at Hawker Beechcraft http://www.hawkerbeechcraft.com/ got his 60-day warn notice today as he came to work.  He’s been on furlough for the last month and his first day back…BOOM…60-day lay-off notice!  When I got MY 60-day warn notice last year I had to work thru mine, but my brother is now off work WITH PAY for the next 60-days.  Isn’t that the shits?

Not gonna do the walk thing today.  I think I strained my foot sometime over the weekend at the Great Plains Ren Fest; WHAT FUN!

Washed Vue

Underneath a brush pile in my neighbor’s yard a growth of poison ivy has flourished.  I am extremely allergic to poison ivy.  As Audie and her are buds, I had her talk with the neighbor.  I know the conversation happened.  Also, as she is a bit handicapped, I gave her some time to have her parents take care of it when they came over to mow her yard.   I know her yard was mowed yesterday and the poison ivy looks very healthy.  As I was washing the Vue, I noticed her mother was over there to pick her up for church.  Luckily, I caught the neighbor as she left her house and told her I was going to take care of the poison ivy either today or tomorrow.  She nodded in approval.  After I washed the car I prepared a tank of Round-Up http://www.scotts.com/smg/templates/index.jsp?pageUrl=roundupLanding&campaign=rdrudotcom.  Audie offered to apply it for me
and I was more than happy to let her.

The Great Plains Ren Fair http://www.greatplainsrenfest.com/ went much better for me today.  I felt better connected.  I took some really great pics.  Audie took pics yesterday, I took pics today, between the two of us I think we captured the entire spirit of it.  Perhaps the most important part of it was WHEN I KICKED HELGI’S ASS IN KUBB!!!!!!

The Rheinwood open meeting was fantastic; primarily because we had three (actually a fourth) visitors!  The cookout was extremely sufficient (thanks ya’ll).  We’ve opened up a couple of things to them I was at first hesitant doing, but I’m expecting good things.  I love it when these open meeting accomplish exactly what they are intended to do; that is, get people interested in Rheinwood.

Audie is the best mood when she’s busy in the kitchen.

Audie is marginally better today; which is good, yet she doesn’t feel like going to the Ren Fair.  I still hold out hope for tomorrow.

We briefly discussed the possibility of her going.  It amazed me what she found to be priority @ the Ren Fair; which was her concern for not going.  Audie conceded to go.  I gave her some money thinking what little was there we could split it, but such was not the case.  She spent every bit of it and wanted more.   If it wasn’t for the kindness of friends…anyway, I took her home, she quickly went to sleep, I changed into some comfy clothes and went back briefly.

I dunno…Ren Fest just wasn’t as fun this go-around.

Well it seems there was a misunderstanding over the money.  It was the prime example of hearing exactly what one wants to hear.  Do you think there was a hint of an apology?

LOTS of activity on Facebook; some reactions to the picture of an example of the mushrooms sprouting up between the Haruc/Hof and the Wîhstat/Vé.  My absolutely best Facebook friend helped me sort out the magical (yes, I really did say that) aspects of
mushrooms (I don‘t have a problem with something being “magical“ as a descriptive word, but I cannot place value in “magic“ as an effort to change one‘s or another‘s surrounding or circumstance).  Of course, she comes from a Celtic background and we had to figure out how to translate her belief system into mine.  IT WORKED!  What she called a “Fae-like presence” was what we called land-wights.  See how things can work?  She’s the best; the ABSOLUTE best!
