Note: 2nd Day of Yule – The Winter Solstice
The Winter Solstice represents the shortest day and the longest night. From this day onward Sunna gains strength and eventually breaks winter's spell. Celebrate Sunna's return and the fertility she brings!
Plans: busy-ness
A.M. Prayer: Monday we pray to Mano/Manni, god of the moon, and lighting a white candle (symbolic of the moon):
Greetings to you Mano/Manni, silver messenger on high, as you fly silently on your way reflect into our souls the glory of the High Ones that we might aspire to the realms of the gods. Bathe our world in soft brightness, and whisper to our souls of joyous realms beyond our knowing. Mano/Manni let us see the goodness within us and without us, all the nights and days of our lives. MANO/MANNI, HAIL!!
Rune Summons:
Born of Fire, born of ice,
Life is lived at such a price.
Holy Runes send my way
Advice on how to spend the day
A.M. Rune: Naudiz (Irreversible): OHG: Nôt (as in “note”): The Rune of Need (whether physical, emotional, spiritual), a stress indicator, friction, transformation, resistance leading to strength, an evolutionary change toward a more holistic state, Fate. Time to hold a personal inventory.
Outcome: Audie did more work around the house getting ready for RheinWood’s Yule
I went shopping for Yule presents.
I brought home Audie’s Yule present, asking if she wanted to see her Winter Solstice present. Once again her eyes got real big and said yes. Asking her to sit down and close her eyes, I pulled out her slipper. You may find it trite that I would buy slippers, but it is something she’s been wanting. She was excited beyond belief!
The other Yule presents I bought were for family. Now my budget is getting pretty close to bottom if it’s not already at bottom: THAT’S pretty stressful.
I’ve been working on a free website for RheinWood: http://rheinwood.weebly.com/. I know it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a professional website, but ya just can’t beat the price. It’s always stressful strating a new venture like this.
P.M. Prayer: Scata/Skahdi:
Scata/Skahdi, fleet on your skis and let me be the game you bag with you bow. Stun me with your grace and beauty, tuck me in the skin-sack at your side, and then take me to your home where wolves howl. There, teach me to know the pleasure of the hunt, the joy of exertion, and the crisp freedom of winter and wilderness. Brand my soul with wind-burn, so that even in the tedium of daily life, I will feel your warm breath, warm on my check, telling me to be strong, able and worthy of you. SCATA/SKAHDI, HAIL!!
P.M. Rune: none
