(Iulmanod = Yule Month)(ERE = Eternal Roman Empire; rather than BC, AD, BCE or CE)

Plans: back to work, but only an 8-hour day

8th Day of Yule – Remembering the Noble Virtue of Discipline
Our Way is not an easy way. In many aspects, we fly in the face of the society around us. Stay Tru to the ideals of Heathenry as they unfold in your life. Be diligent in the study of your beliefs. Stay Tru to the gods and goddesses of the Northern Germanic peoples.

AM Prayer: Sunday, we pray to Sonne/Sunna, lighting a yellow candle (symbolic of the Sun):
Greetings to you Sonne, Lamp of Wodan/Odin: newly risen! Hail to you who has shown on all our ancestors, who shines on us, and who will shine on our decedents yet unborn. Share with us some of your light, your energy, your power, so that we might better fight our battles and attain our goals. SONNE/SUNNA HAIL!!

Advice on how to spend the day

AM Rune: Gebo (irreversible): The mystical union of gift and giver, repay gift for gift, a fair exchange between people or gods and the Luck that accompanies it; freely exchanged, contracts, relationships, sometimes sexual, sacrifice, and hospitality, do not take more than we are wiling to give, the voluntary sacrifice of resources.

Outcome: Ahhhhhhhh…the gift of good sleep!

…and the gift of a great day at work; well, that is, after a rough start!

…as well as a gift of a warm Hof after getting the new heater for it!

…not to mention the gift of a great evening with Audie

…and the gift of a great friendship with Marc who is asking me for grave space in my yard when his 20 yr old cat uses the last of his cat lives; I’m more than glad to oblige.

I almost thought we were going to have to sacrifice having Yule Faining in the Hof due to electrical problems, but as luck would have it (and believe me this is REALLY luck) I figured it out!

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this, but I have two nieces who are pregnant, both due in May, both with boys! Now THAT is an excellent gift!

PM Prayer: Scata/Skahdi:
Scata/Skahdi, fleet on your skis and let me be the game you bag with you bow. Stun me with your grace and beauty, tuck me in the skin-sack at your side, and then take me to your home where wolves howl. There, teach me to know the pleasure of the hunt, the joy of exertion, and the crisp freedom of winter and wilderness. Brand my soul with wind-burn, so that even in the tedium of daily life, I will feel your warm breath, warm on my check, telling me to be strong, able and worthy of you. SCATA/SKAHDI, HAIL!!

PM Rune: none
